Unlocking Miracles

So many of us have longed to see a miracle at one point or another. We have searched and prayed, hoped and dreamed. But why is it that so many of us have yet to experience the supernatural works of our Creator?

We find the answer to unlocking miracles in Acts Chapters 10-12. In these chapters, I believe we see 2 requisites for experiencing the hand of God in our lives.

How We Can Unlock Miracles

1. Let Go of Expectations –

    • In Acts 10-12, we see the Lord work in truly mysterious ways. By giving visions, and connecting 2 random people to accomplish His work, the Lord brings about the spread of His Gospel to the Gentile people.
    • Isaiah 55:8-9 tells us, "For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts."
    • We often dream up our own solution to life's problems. We envision what a miracle should look like and refuse to imagine any other outcome. But, what the story in Acts reveals to us, and the verses in Isaiah declare, is that the Lord has His own plan, and His plan is ALWAYS best.
    • When it comes to unlocking miracles, we need to let go of our expectations for what the miracle should be and humbly accept the miracle God truly wants to perform.

2. Obey Without Doubting –

    • In Acts 10-12, we see the phrase "without doubting" used 3 times. This command was given to Peter by the Holy Spirit as He instructed him to obey.
    • And because Peter didn't doubt, and listened to the voice of the Lord, the extraordinary plan of God was carried out and produced His divine outcomes.
    • Many of us fail to see the miracles God has planned for us, because we let our doubts keep us from walking in obedience. If we obey the voice of the Lord, without doubting His ability, we allow His hand to move and accomplish miraculous works.

A Prayer for Unlocking Miracles

Father, please help me to walk in obedience. I long to do Your Will, not for the sake of seeing a miracle, but to honor and please you with my life. Please give me ears to hear your voice, and eyes to see the doors you have opened. Please give me a heart for the service you require of me. I pray these things in your name Lord Jesus, Amen.

I encourage you to walk in obedience, without doubting. "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you a future and a hope." Jeremiah 29:11

I hope you have a blessed week!

Your sister in Christ,

Julia H.
